Ingredients

check sugar 1-1/2 cups sugar

check butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

check shortening 1/2 cup shortening

check eggs 2 eggs

check all-purpose flour 2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

check cream of tartar 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

check baking soda 1 teaspoon baking soda

check salt 1/4 teaspoon salt

check sugar 3 tablespoons sugar

check ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix 1-1/2 cups sugar, the butter, shortening and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.

Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon; roll balls in mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely on wire rack.
